Hannah Dunsirn
My journey as a photographer began when my mom sent me to art camp in 8th grade. Throughout my high school years, I attended pre-college art camps through MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) and MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design).
After high school, I attended Columbia College Chicago, earning my bachelor’s degree in photography. To keep my creativity flowing, I currently take figure drawing classes, which help me advance my retouching skills. Similarly, I’m enrolled in ceramics classes, which inspire new perspective on lighting and composition when planning a shoot.
My purpose as an advertising photographer is to bring an elevated narrative to the photography industry. After nearly a decade working my way up on commercial sets, I’ve learned the best shoots are ones where client and creative values run parallel.
My values are:
Collaboration.
Prioritizing collaboration along with the creative process will lead to the best possible outcomes for clients.
Connection.
Building real connection with our subjects is the key to creative success.
Diversity.
Representation starts with the person behind the lens. Women are underrepresented in the photography industry. I work with women and other marginalized communities as often as possible.
Drawing empathy from personal and professional experiences helps me connect with subjects. My strongest work as a Los Angeles Advertising Photographer has been lifestyle photography within the pet, fashion, fitness, health, and children’s industries.
